Tunisia: Industrial partnership with ”Alstom Transport”

Mr. Abderrahim Zouari, the Transport minister , met on January 6, 2009 Mr. Philippe Mellier, the” Alstom Transport” chairman .they have discussed in this meeting   how to develop an industrial partnership between Tunisia and the French manufacturer.

The “Alstom” chairman claimed that the Tunisian market has reached such a level that allowed his group to establish closer collaboration with Foreign railway and Tunisian companies, particularly in the sub-contracting and maintenance fields.



Due to its many reforms and socio-economic achievements (such as institutional environment, infrastructure, human resources ,competent politics and economic stability), Tunisia has managed to gain the confidence of foreign investors.



we should mention that the “Alstom” Group is specialized in transportation and energy, they has just completed the infrastructure and electrification of “El Mourouj” line , and they are currently in charge of the electrification of southern suburbs’ line.
